...a tribute to becoming a doctor.
Back to work tomorrow. I'm petrified at how much there will be for me to do to catch up. I'm afraid I'll have forgotten everything. I keep thinking that maybe I *should* have taken a research month, but now I can take one next year if I'd like.

0800, NICU and outpatient pediatrics. Afternoon clinic. I've been off for eight weeks and I can assure you, O Best Beloved, I have no interest in being a stay-at-home mother. Ever.

But she's darling. And the trip to Cancun went smoothly.

Best of luck in the NICU and pedi! Hopefully it won't be difficult for you as a new mommy to go back to sick babies.

So glad you've had time at home with her. She's such a beautiful little girl!

And I know what you mean about the stay-at-home thing. You can feel your brain melting away.... I love my kids dearly, and I appreciate all the time I've been able to spend with them, but the craving for intellectual stimulation gets pretty desperate after a while.

Best of luck with the return to service.

I had to laugh at the comments about being a SAHM. Life with a baby at 8 weeks old is much, much more difficult than life with an 8 month-old or an 18 month-old. They develop a routine as they get older so you (and the baby) know what to expect to happen during the day. At 8 weeks, everything is still chaos. Many babies haven't yet figured out when night is.

Oh, it's not the routine. It's the "stay at home" bit. I was going stir-crazy.
