Nick of time - Nobody wears a white coat any more... — LiveJournal
...a tribute to becoming a doctor.
Nick of time
Home from D.C. at 2330. Home to the house at 0010. Checked clinic box to see when I started tomorrow - saw a message about my OB patient. Opened it. She'd broken her water at 1100.
I called the OB floor. She's here, yes. Is she in labor? She's nine centimeters.

I got there right as she started pushing, caught six-twelve of baby boy, pronounced him perfect.
I love my job.

now feeling:: happy

Was he as slippery as I imagine? you think they'd have a net or something just incase.

Babies are very slippery. I almost dropped this one. Fortunately, we have a big bucket to dump towels and stuff into that they could fall into.

The trick is to catch 'em by the neck and foot. :)
