On the road: Update

For those of you who want to know what I've been doing here in Washington, D.C., a lot of it has been through the eye of my trusty little digital camera.  Even Angel's beginning to learn when I'm going to stop and take a picture.  Here are a small selection of the favourites from the last two days.
Metro Station Metro Station
All of the metro stations underground seem to have the same acoustic concrete tiling. It gives the place a surreal look.
Eyes Wide Open - Girl Eyes Wide Open - Girl with Flag
This little girl's father gave permission to take her picture. Please don't copy it.

Eyes Wide Open (http://www.afsc.org/eyes/) is currently on the Smithsonian Mall, displaying boots representing every US soldier killed in Iraq, and shoes for every civilian.
Washington Monument Washington Monument
Doesn't it look like something out of 2001?
WWII Monument Pool WWII Monument Pool
The inscription to this pool reads: Here we mark the price of freedom. There are 4,000 gold stars in the full monument to mark the 400,000 lives lost in WWII. (http://www.wwiimemorial.com/)
Journalists' Memorial Journalists' Memorial
This memorial stands in the Newseum/Freedom Park and is inscribed with the names of 1600+ journalists who've died reporting the news.

More to follow, perhaps.
