A word before I go. - Nobody wears a white coat any more... — LiveJournal
...a tribute to becoming a doctor.
A word before I go.
Clinic patient show rate yesterday: 2 of 4. Which was okay, since it took me almost two hours to do my first patient. I hate EMR.

And, apparently, the OB staff who was in overnight with me, who saw the breech patient after me, also missed it. "Breech exams can fool you," he said, shrugging. "The sacrum is hard." I'm going to live.

Call tonight. Post-call Saturday. Got paid. Day off on Sunday.
One day at a time.

now feeling:: determined determined

You won't just live, you'll be wonderfully amazing. You care. You learn from your mistakes. Sweet dreams!

Guilt is a good thing. Like pain. Pain is a good thing too. They are some of those necessary parts of life.

Know of any handy procedural dictionaries online I could reference when reading your entries? They're fascinating, but I'm a good six years away from knowing hospital shorthand. :)

Try www.stedmans.com? Or, alternatively, ask me what stuff means so I remember not to make it so hard to read :)
