I didn't mean to sue anyone...
I got an e-mail from Citibank. It said I had a statement. I looked. I had $0.13 in credits to the card I never use. I looked at the bottom of the statement:
This statement includes a credit for your portion of the settlement in the Schwartz lawsuit.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM ALL OF US AT CITI! We'd like to take a moment to thank you for being a Citi Card member and let you know that we appreciate your business. Warmest wishes for the upcoming year.

I got a settlement of $0.13 from part of a class-action lawsuit against Citibank. I don't want to be part of a class-action lawsuit. I must've missed the letter to opt out of it. So do I call Citibank and tell them to take their $0.13 back?

now feeling:: confused confused

Man. I hate it when I accidentally sue people without my knowledge. This one time, I fell asleep at my keyboard, and when I woke up again, Bill Gates sent me a personal e-mail saying that he was sending the settlement check in the mail. And I was like, "... Ooh?" It was for 2.4 million dollars. But I felt bad, so I gave it back.

I imagine they're going to be more then happy to charge you interest and finance charges and what not on that $0.13, too. Bet you end up having to pay them more then they credited you. Happy Holidays indeed. :)

I dunno bout you, but I would keep the statement just for posterity. Hell, I'd put it up right next to my 'Human Test Subject' check. *amused*

My mom was suprised by a $100 check in the mail this Christmas from a class-action lawsuit against the company who makes one of her medications...

She's still taking this medication. I wonder if the price of that medicine will go up by more than $100 over the next couple years.
